DUCTSOX'S NEW OVALSOX SOLVES LOW- CLEARANCE CHALLENGES DuctSox has introduced Oval- Sox, fabric duct designed for low-clearance HVAC ventila- tion in industrial and com- mercial building applications. The fabric duct ranges from 11-22 inches high and 47-93 inches wide and saves 13-27 inches of head room versus round HVAC fabric and metal duct alternatives. OvalSox retains an inflated shape even during idle air handling periods with patent-pending polyester ropes and supportive fiberglass rods for structural integrity. Six 3/16-inch diameter ropes are sewn into the fabric interior at nine to 14-inch increments, which also present an aesthetic pleated effect. OvalSox offers a variety of air dispersion options, such as air porous fabric, linear vents, nozzles and orifices. CHECK OR CIRCLE #159 HVAC Smart Chip reduces heating, cooling costs The HVAC Smart Chip microprocessor by AirConergy, LLC can be retrofitted to a majority of equipment, including air handlers, heat pumps, split systems and thermostats, resulting in significant sav- ings in heating and cooling costs. The HVAC Smart Chip records the runtime on equipment and extends the fan blower to force through all the cold air or heat formed instead of it dissipat- ing and being lost over time. The chip has been tested by several leading utility companies and validated findings by the California Energy Commission to give customers energy savings between 15-20 percent on cooling mode and 10- 14 percent on heating mode. Paircoil's durable industrial-grade insulation features a UV light and wear- resistant coating with a non-frictional sur- face making it easy to pull. It also features embossed incremental one-meter inscriptions for hands-free measuring. The white insulation reflects solar heat, is water-resistant and features a hardened, but ductile surface. CHC is a proven environmen- tally friendly water treatment technol- ogy used in HVAC, process cooling and refrigeration systems to effectively control scale, biological growth and corrosion without the use of chemi- cals. Adding CHC technology to a cool- ing tower saves energy, reduces water consumption and maintenance costs and minimizes or eliminates sewer discharge volume. The easy-to-use HVAC products in- clude coil cleaners, coil brighteners, scale removers, metal cleaning detergents, gas leak detectors, electronic cell cleaners and degreasing solvents. The line also includes concentrated cleaners for ice machines, including metal-compatible products for coils and condensers. CHECK OR CIRCLE #155 ARMACELL INTRODUCES DUCT LINER FOR SPIRAL DUCTS AP Spiralflex is the first 100 percent fiber- free, elastomeric duct liner made spe- cifically for spiral ducts. The all-inclusive solution elimi- nates the need for encapsulating films or heavy dual wall systems. Made from highly conform- able elasto- meric foam, AP Spiralflex cuts easily with a sharp knife. Its smooth and flexible backing fits snugly against the duct wall, without the typical gaps that rob conventional insulation sys- tems of efficiency. Installation is a simple matter of forming a correctly sized tube with one glued and taped seam, then insert- ing it into spiral duct sections. The end re- sult is a more precise insulation application that weighs 20 percent less than dual wall ducts with fiberglass.
