The ex- tended capacity offers a more cost-competitive solution to 225 ton opportunities without sacrific- ing size, quality and efficiency. The QTC3 (55-225 tons) offers full-load and part-load efficiencies that meet or exceed ASHRAE standards. Made to order options include variable speed drive condenser fans to further enhance part-load efficiency and sound, as well as inte- gral pump packages to offer a single purchase, shipment and install solution. The units are equipped with two independent circuits for partial redundancy. They also feature a brazed plate heat exchanger, microchannel condenser and native building automation system communications. The chillers are in production and will be part of the stocked chiller offering available April 2018. CHECK OR CIRCLE #112 Low-Temperature Models Added to Heatcraft Condensing Unit Product Line Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration has released the newest addition to its condensing unit product line, a low-temperature screw compressor condensing unit. The hallmark of the new low-temperature unit is its robust construction, providing maximum reliability over the life of the unit. The higher-capacity single unit can replace the need for multiple condensing units for the same application, resulting in lower installation and maintenance costs. The low-temperature screw compressor condensing unit can be paired with Heatcraft's line of industrial unit coolers. These pairings will provide optimized split-system refrigeration for large, low-temperature applications. Additionally, standard components, such as screw com- pressors, welded frame, floating tube coils and a dedicated oil cooler provide robust, reliable performance. CHECK OR CIRCLE #116 SPX Cooling Technologies Announces Expansion of Cooling Tower Line SPX Cooling Technologies, Inc. has expanded its Marley MD line of factory-assembled counterflow cooling towers. New to the MD line are models with exclusive anti-fouling, low-clog film fill types, which provide a higher degree of resistance for dirty water applications and expand the suitability of the Marley MD for process cooling and heavy industrial uses. The Marley MD is a CTI-certified, fully rated cooling tower for a wide range of flow and temperature requirements. In addition to the low-clog film fill, other value-added options that aid in dirty water applications include factory-installed basin sweeper piping, which helps to limit dirt and debris buildup in the collection basin. The tower comes standard with low-clog polypropylene water distribution nozzles and a low-sound fan, but additional fan and attenuation options are available to meet more stringent sound requirements. CHECK OR CIRCLE #113 New Chiller Line Off ers High-Effi ciency, Ultra-Low Global Warming Potential Trane has expanded its Series S CenTraVac chiller line with the new CVHM model. Available in 170- 370 ton range, it can be applied to any commercial building including retrofits and system replace- ments. The chillers are available in oil-free and oil- lubricated configurations, providing customers with the highest full- and part-load efficiencies. Customers can select the chillers to operate with R-123 or R-514A, a next-generation refrigerant also known as Opteon XP30, with ultra-low global warm- ing potential of less than two. The combination of high-efficiency operation and use of a low-pressure, low-GWP refrigerant provides lower greenhouse gas emissions and operational costs, and offers customers choices on when and how they want to start using next-generation refrigerants. CHECK OR CIRCLE #111 Low-GWP R-513A Refrigerant Option, Low Lift Capability Available for TT Series Compressors Danfoss has added to its portfolio of low-global warming potential compressors by introducing an option to use R-513A, and expanded its operating map range to cover low-lift applications for the TT Series compressor family. R-513A is a low-GWP, non-flammable (A1) alternative refrigerant to R-134a that allows chiller manufactur- ers to meet future HFC regulations. Existing Turbocor TT Series compres- sor revision F models using R-134a can be retrofitted to use R-513A by simply changing the electronic controllers. CHECK OR CIRCLE #114 Energy-Effi cient Pre-Insulated Plastic Piping Solution Available for Glycol Applications The Cool-Fit ABS Plus Piping System from GF Piping Systems is a fully pre-insulated plastic pip- ing system for secondary cooling and refrigeration that features energy- efficient, non-corroding, maintenance-free performance. Cool-Fit ABS Plus has a core pipe made of ABS, which is insulated with high-density polyurethane. The insula- tion is protected with a black polyethylene jacket that is water-tight and UV-resistant, making it suitable for outdoor use. In addition, the entire system is completely diffusion and vapor tight. The system is designed for conveying water-based coolants with temperatures from -58 F to 104 F at an operating pressure of up to 10 bar and within diameters from ¾ inches to 12 inches (d25 to d315).
