6 6. NORTEK GLOBAL HVAC LAUNCHES ENERGY-EFFICIENT GAS FURNACE LINE Nortek Global HVAC has added a new 96 percent AFUE gas furnace to its lineup. Model FG7TE/ FG7TN comes with a factory-installed ECM motor and programmable control board. The new furnace meets Energy Star requirements and qualifies for local utility rebates and the U.S. federal tax credit. The Nortek Global HVAC fixed-torque ECM blower motor is programmable to 16 different speeds for both heating and cooling operation modes, making it adaptable to challenging high-static applications, as well as a greater range of heating and cooling capacities. Nearly 100 percent of the fuel used to power the unit is converted into useful heating power. CHECK OR CIRCLE #111 7. OPTIMIZING ENERGY SAVINGS, EFFICIENCY WITH VARI-GREEN ENERGY-CONTROL PRODUCTS With Greenheck's line of Vari-Green energy- control products, no field installation or startup is required, saving contractors time. The product line optimizes energy savings and efficiency of ventilation systems in a variety of applications. Internally mounted within the fan housing, the Vari-Green Drive virtually eliminates voltage spikes that can contribute to motor performance issues and motor failure. BUILDING AUTOMATION, HIGH- PERFORMANCE EQUIPMENT MERGE FOR IMPROVED ENERGY MANAGEMENT Toshiba Carrier Variable Refrigerant Flow heating and cooling products can now connect seamless- ly to the i-Vu building automation system, allow- ing building operators to manage HVAC systems around the clock, from anywhere. The functionality can be ordered as part of the Carrier VRF equipment offering, providing customers with a turnkey solution that enables building automation, in addition to the numerous benefits of the VRF system. Toshiba Carrier's VRF equipment provides climate control with flexibil- ity, zoning options and energy efficiency. CHECK OR CIRCLE #113 9. ZURN HIGH-EFFICIENCY TOILET SYSTEM MAXIMIZES WATER SAVINGS Zurn Industries, LLC introduces the latest ad- dition to its EcoVantage High Efficiency Toilet Systems: the 1.1 gpf diaphragm kit for flush valve toilet systems. The system is designed to maxi- mize water savings. By utilizing the Zurn 1.1 gpf toilet system, 31 percent water savings can be realized over a conventional 1.6 gpf closet system. The system's carrier boasts a hydraulically optimized design — from water supply to waste line — that greatly reduces the chance of clogging, even for low-flow 1.1 gpf systems (a common concern in the com- mercial sector until now). In addition, the newest 1.1 gpf diaphragm kit is part of the Zurn Go Blue family of kits that last 8-10 times longer than traditional black rubber diaphragms. CHECK OR CIRCLE #114 10. AIRCUITY 2.0 DELIVERS MEASURABLE SAVINGS, INSIGHTS ON DEMAND CONTROL VENTILATION The recently launched Aircuity 2.0 technology includes the brand new MyAircuity web and desktop apps that, out-of-the-box, deliver action- able insights, transparency and accountability to building owners and facility managers imple- menting demand control ventilation — one of the highest total return on investments and energy conservation measures available. Aircuity's system continuously collects an array of building indoor environmental data. Air samples are gathered from individual spaces and at the air handler level and routed through the network to the Sensor Suite for analysis. DEDICATED OUTDOOR AIR SYSTEMS PRODUCT LINEUP OFFERS SAVINGS ON OPERATIONS, MAINTENANCE LG Electronics USA Air Conditioning Technologies launched an expanded dedicated outdoor air system product lineup, offering a complete solution and further enabling building owners and facility managers to seamlessly implement an end-to-end LG HVAC system. The new rooftop DOAS units operate with standalone controls that automatically switch modes between cooling, heating and dehumidification for accurate and automatic conditioning and control of the outside air being supplied to the building. The robust 2-inch, foam-injected double wall construction increases energy efficiency and unit durability for a longer, more sustainable lifespan. Available in a wide range of capacities, LG DOAS units are available up to 70 tons and are configured to be easily compatible with LG VRF systems.
