Water Heaters Ideal for High-Demand Applications of Hospitals The Diversified Heat Transfer SuperTherm series of semi-instanta- neous water heaters are the engineered solutions for applications that need high-recovery capacity in a small space. They are constructed of stainless steel pipe and other non-ferrous materials to ensure long leak-free operation. Designed for continuous high-peak loads, the water heaters are ideal for high-demand applications, such as hospitals. Units are custom engineered using steam, boiler water or HTHW as the heating medium. Velocity of water and pressure drop are controlled by changing water flow directly across the heat exchanger, which increas- es heat transfer and inhibits scale formation. CHECK OR CIRCLE #101 Integral Integra Drain System Improves Sink Hygiene Just Manufacturing's Integra Drain system creates a unique integral in-sink drain system. The system design seamlessly joins the drain to the sink, so that the sink and the drain are one complete unit. The results are a safer, seamless sink interior designed to eliminate not only crevices in the sink bottom, but also in the drain itself. This design completely eliminates the need for additional parts and rings. The system is perfect for health- care facilities and applications where hygiene is critical. It adds to the hygienic element of the sink, providing a cleaner solution to sink drains. By eliminating crevices not only in the sink bottom, but also in the drain body where standing water may occur, opportunities for potential bacterial growth are reduced. CHECK OR CIRCLE #104 Carrier Announces Reinvention of the Aero 39M Commercial Air Handler Carrier has reinvented the Aero 39M commercial air handler, which delivers greater flexibility and versatility through an ex- panded number of available sizes, configurations and additional features. Featuring the Aeron's proven foam-filled, double-wall construction and Anion antimicrobial technology to protect the unit over its lifespan, the latest version of the 39M is available in tall and narrow sizes, as well as shorter airway lengths to fit tight mechanical spaces. In addition, the air handler is streamlined, easy to install and offers greater motor speed control selections, direct-drive plenum fans and LED marine lights. CHECK OR CIRCLE #105 Healthy air and products are ever so critical in hospitals and other areas of healing. Clean water and fixtures that deliver it, along with healthy levels of indoor air quality, help aid patients on their journey to recovery. The following are new products fit for use in hospital applications: Healthy Hospitals Alerton Ascent Compass Software Updated Part of the Alerton Ascent building automation system, the recently updated Compass software empowers healthcare building owners and operators to easily man- age their HVAC energy consumption, while maintaining a comfortable indoor environment. The software provides users a cleaner, simpler interface that reduces the steps required to optimize building systems and energy efficien- cy. CHECK OR CIRCLE #102 Occupancy Detection Technology Embedded in Improved Ceiling- Recessed Indoor Unit Ideal for various areas of a hospital — except clean rooms due to air filtration needs — the Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. Cooling & Heating Division introduces its latest innovation: the City Multi ceiling cas- sette indoor unit, featuring the new 3D i-see Sensor. The 3D i-see Sensor is a small, yet powerful component mounted to the exterior panel of the ceiling cassette. The sensor continuously analyzes the thermal profile of a room, identifying cool and warm spots. To achieve an accurate thermal profile, it performs hundreds of circular scans, with multiple points per scan, continuously monitoring a given space. The indoor unit is available in capacities ranging from 8,000 Btu/hr to 48,000 Btu/hr. CHECK OR CIRCLE #103 Zurn Maintains Water Effi ciency Commitment with High-Effi ciency Floor Bowl Designed to maximize water savings, the Zurn High Efficiency 1.1 gpf floor bowl system can deliver a 31 percent water savings over a 1.6 gpf closet system, while ensuring full evacuation of the toilet bowl. The bowl is available in standard and ADA heights, with and without bed pan lugs and with optional antimicrobial glazing, making this the ideal selection for healthcare facilities. The Zurn EcoVantage 1.1 gpf High Efficiency Floor Bowl system can aid in achieving total water reduction in excess of the 30 percent savings required to earn LEED points.
