Pipemarkers Valve Tags Engraved Nameplates controls/ HVAC White-Rodgers of ers direct replacement furnace controls White-Rodgers, a business unit of Emerson, introduced four new direct replacement con- trols for Carrier, Trane and York single-stage furnaces. The controls are part of a line of direct replacement options to complement universal replacement products that White-Rodgers offers contractors. To help contrac- tors navigate replacement heating controls, valves and igniters, the company has added an OEM Model Search to the WRMobile App. Contractors simply en- ter the OEM furnace control model number, and the app gives suggested direct replacement models, as well as any universal options available. WRMobile can be downloaded at EmersonClimate.com/mobileapps. CHECK OR CIRCLE #114 VFD retrofi t technology optimizes comfort, ef ciency DrivePak, variable frequency drive retrofit tech- nology manufactured by NexRev Inc., provides a consistent reduction in total energy savings while optimizing occupant comfort. Customers are seeing energy savings that average 15 percent of their total facility energy usage. The VFD retrofit technology works by changing the operation of HVAC fans from constant speed to variable speed by matching fan speed to actual load require- ments. Previously feasible only for fan motors 20 horsepower and up, now the ROI — even for standard rooftop package units with blower motors down in the 2-5 horsepower range — can result in a payback of less than two years. In addi- tion, the technology can be applied to larger motors — up to 100 horsepower — at impressive ROI figures. CHECK OR CIRCLE #115 BUILDING CONTROLS UPGRADE PROGRAM IMPROVES EFFICIENCY, PERFORMANCE Trane's BAS R'newal building controls upgrade program helps update existing control systems and gain access to new technolo- gies that improve overall building performance and operating efficiency. By leveraging existing equip- ment, BAS R'newal provides a proactive migration plan to improve the functionality and reliability of an aging system, and is more cost effective than a comprehensive system replace- ment. The building management systems can integrate several dashboards into one BAS. In addition, many controls en- able remote system access via any Internet-enabled device, including a tablet or smartphone. CHECK OR CIRCLE #116 JOHNSON CONTROLS SIMPLIFIES CONTROLS ON LUXAIRE COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS Johnson Controls is bringing Simplicity Smart Equipment controls to its Luxaire brand of commercial-packaged and split- system products. An optional wireless mobile access portal or hardwired network- ing capabilities allow several users to access one or many units using any device with Wi-Fi capability.
