1. UV-C FIXTURE/LAMP PROVIDES ULTRAVIOLET ENERGY AT HALF THE COST The High-Output DEF (Double Ended Fixture) ultraviolet lamp series from UV Resources can be easily installed anywhere in most HVAC systems to destroy coil/drain pan microbial infestations and disinfect moving air streams. The High-Output DEF series is designed to provide up to twice the ultraviolet irradiation to kill and/or degrade the toughest microorgan- isms and organic matter, whether surface or air- borne, in the most challenging applications at up to half the cost of similar products. The features include a 120-277V waterproof ballast design, stainless steel construction and built-in weep holes to withstand the harshest commercial or industrial HVAC environments. Power supplies and lamps are electronically matched to provide the highest output while maintaining the longest life expectancy. CHECK OR CIRCLE #106 2. REME HALO IN-DUCT AIR PURIFIER TOP CHOICE FOR IAQ The REME HALO in-duct air purifier is the next generation of IAQ technology. Unique only to RGF Environmental Group, the patented PHI technology is one of six used in combination to recreate nature's process of purifying the air. It's like bringing fresh outdoor air inside without ever having to open windows. The purifier is effective against all three categories of indoor air pollutants: particulates, microbial and gases. It is thoroughly tested on airborne and surface bacteria, along with viruses, such as MRSA, E. coli and Norwalk. CHECK OR CIRCLE #107 3. RESTORATION PROCESS PROMOTES BETTER IAQ DOWNSTREAM HVAC New Life from Pure Air Control Services Inc. is a sustainable, hygienic, AHU restoration process that steam cleans the entire unit, espe- cially the coils, then refinishes the components. A number of factors can make it a real challenge to keep indoor air quality and water free of pollut- ants. But most of the time all it takes is being diligent — having the right mainte- nance routine, along with the right products. The following is a snapshot of the most recent HVAC and plumbing products available to help keep air and water clean and clear. cover Clean & Clear 1 The steam process disinfects the AHU to provide better IAQ downstream in the HVAC system. In ad- dition, the coil is physically freed from fouling, which results in better performance and energy savings. The finish coating and pan liner also offer antimicrobial- and water-inhibiting properties to prevent future mold and bacterial proliferation. Beyond, the service is sustainable in that aging units do not need to be removed, trucked to a scrap yard and broken down to be recycled or put in a landfill. It has a five-year warranty and some clients are seeing 7-10 years of extended use out of the AHU/coil. CHECK OR CIRCLE #108 4. NAVIEN INTRODUCES MAGNETIC BOILER FILTER Navien introduces NaviClean, powered by Adey, a magnetic boiler filter designed to work with Navien NHB boilers, NCB-E combi-boilers and any other boiler system up to 199,000 Btu/hr. NaviClean protects boiler systems by using a powerful permanent magnet to capture high levels of iron oxide, sludge and debris from the incoming water lines. The filter is designed with bi-directional flow and 360 degree rotational valves, making in-line instal- lations simple enough to be completed in two minutes. The quick-release trigger and rapid-fit connectors also allow for quick maintenance and reinstallation. The dirt filtration technology helps extend the life of a hydronic heating system while reducing heating costs, maintenance costs and carbon emissions. CHECK OR CIRCLE #109 5. AUTOMATED DETECTION READER SYSTEM CONTINUOUSLY MONITORS FOR LEGIONELLA PathogenAlert's Rapid Airborne Pathogen Identification and Detection Reader System can detect and confirm the presence of airborne legionella within hours of sampling. The small wireless device mounts anywhere and operates by automatically sampling the air in cooling towers, chillers, ducts or other high-risk areas every five minutes (or any other time frame specified) on a 24/7 basis. To detect pathogen growth, the device uses optical measurement and laser technology, along with electronic digital signal processing. Inhibitors are utilized to eliminate false readings. Detection software also monitors for erratic behavior that can be caused by non-pathogenic particles, such as dust, and compensates appropriately.
