spotlight /healthcare Solid-Surface Sink Line to Include 3 New Models Three new models have been added to Sloan's SloanStone line of molded, solid- surface sinks. The new models feature a wide range of aesthetic and color options designed to fit the needs of healthcare facilities and other commercial buildings. Strategically engineered for high-traffic environments, the sinks are vandal resis- tant and feature a single-molded basin with non-porous surfaces for a hygienic environ- ment that can be easily serviced. The new sinks are ideal for wall-mount applications and complement Sloan's exist- ing line of sinks, such as the gradient (ELGR series) and electronic lavatory system (ELS Series) models. They can be paired with any of the company's faucets and seven new matching sensor-activated soap dispensers for a cohesive on-deck aesthetic. CHECK OR CIRCLE #101 EcoAir Valve Reduces Energy Consumption, Strain on HVAC Systems The new EcoAir Valve is an ultra-low pressure drop valve that can reduce en- ergy consumption and strain on HVAC systems for hospitals and labo- ratories. The valve delivers a fast and accurate response even during low- duct static pressure changes, providing unprecedent- ed precision in airflow control. The Triatek product line, recently acquired by Johnson Controls, includes air valves, fume hood controls and room pressure controllers, in addition to the FlowSafe line of fume hoods and fume hood retrofit solutions. All products are designed to seamlessly integrate into a facility's building au- tomation system, helping to increase energy efficiency, minimize utility costs, improve ease of maintenance and enhance the overall safety of criti- cal environments. CHECK OR CIRCLE #102 Stainless Steel Supply System Ideal for Operating Rooms The Sterilflo System by Krueger-HVAC, a particulate control system, is designed to adapt to the ceiling of the modern operating room. Unlike a straight laminar solution, which requires an unbroken array of diffusers, the system utilizes specially designed laminar panels in conjunction with perimeter panels that produce an air curtain of a known profile. The system permits discrete locations of the laminar panels, making it possible to place surgical lights, gas columns, intravenous tracks and other items in logical locations between the perimeter and center panels. Sterilflo System adapts to the ceiling plan rather than adapting the ceiling plan to the system. CHECK OR CIRCLE #104 Digital Gas Detectors Streamline Hospital Refrigeration Applications Danfoss has introduced a new range of fixed gas detectors for industrial refrigeration applications, such as healthcare, with large-charge HFC centrifugal chillers. The new digital gas detectors are not only compliant and accurate, but are much easier and intuitive to work with, from initial specification to long-term operation. The gas detectors are based on a digital platform that delivers multiple communica- tion and integration options for improved operational reliability, easy calibration and maintenance procedures that enable high service efficiency and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the intuitive user-interface provides a high level of ac- curacy to simplify operator handling. The portfolio ranges from basic to heavy-duty models with sensor technology to match the specific refrigerant, application and safety requirements of a refrigeration system. CHECK OR CIRCLE #105 Being some of the most energy-intensive facilities and containing some of the most vulnerable building occupants, healthcare facilities need not only to look for energy savings, but stay on top of infection control. HVAC and plumbing products can help with these goals. The following are the latest products ideal for use in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Health Check Sensor Faucet Offers Sleek, Compact Design While Delivering Water Savings The EC-3142 sensor faucet from T&S Brass and Bronze Works is a more streamlined product ideal for healthcare restrooms and other areas where hygiene and water conservation are crucial considerations. The faucet includes above-deck electronics with point-of-use temperature mixing handle and comes standard with a 2.2 gpm vandal-resistant aerator. In addition to decreasing the spread of germs through contact with contaminated surfaces, T&S ChekPoint sensor faucets can also contribute to sig- nificant water and energy savings, reducing water use by up to one gallon per hand-washing. CHECK OR CIRCLE #103 Chicago Faucets Offers New Line of Laboratory Fittings Chicago Faucets has introduced a new, comprehensive line of laboratory fittings. The offering allows customers to configure their products to match the application. The different combinations total over 8,000 unique products. The new line of laboratory products offers fittings for water, steam, gas, combination and electrical applications. When combined with Chicago Faucets' safety products and commercial faucets, customers will find a single source for healthcare, education and research projects.
