Spring 2017 | Volume 5, Issue 1 8040 E. Morgan Trail, Ste. 23 Scottsdale, AZ 85258 p: (480) 361-6300 f: (480) 361-6394 W ith legionella and a wide variety of contaminants posing a threat to clean air and water, means and methods for delivering healthy air and water are under a constant watchful eye. The HVAC and plumbing industry is hard at work to combat these threats. And it all begins with standards and movements. New and revised standards have been released and are in the works. For ex- ample, a manual to help users navigate the changes in ASHRAE's 2016 ventilation standard was recently released. The User's Manual for ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2016, Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality, provides information on the requirements of the standard and includes tables, illustrations and examples to aid users in designing, installing and operating systems for ventilation in buildings. Standards like ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 188-2015: Legionellosis: Risk Management for Building Water Systems, offer guidance on legionellosis risk management requirements for building water systems. Movements such as World Water Day bring light to threats to clean and safe water both in the U.S. and globally. Organizations, including the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, re- cently gathered to discuss the best ways to invest in helping populations increase access to water, sanitation and hygiene services. The path for clean air and water continues with products. This issue of HVAC/P features the latest products delivering fresh air and water to our homes, plus offices, schools, shopping centers and other commercial facilities. I learned about a lot of these and got to see first-hand several products in action at AHR. For those that missed the expo or need a refresher, we've compiled many new products delivering improved IAQ and clean water right here, and much more, in the follow- ing pages. Starting with this issue — and continuing in forthcoming issues — we are highlighting products used in specific building applications. In this issue, we examine products used in healthcare facilities. Stay tuned for more to come. Enjoy the issue!
