/ e q u i p m e n t TSI Announces Explosion-Proof Cooling Products for Hazardous Environments Technical Systems, Inc. announces that many of its products, including air-cooled condensing units and chillers, remote air-cooled condensers, water-cooled chillers and evaporative condensing chillers for indoor and outdoor use are available in explosion-proof designs. Commercial off-the-shelf cooling products must be rebuilt and retrofitted to meet hazardous environment certifications. Every component of TSI explosion-proof products is built and installed with its intended end use in mind. As a result, products maintain UL and ETL certifications and provide superior quality, reliability and cost effectiveness. CHECK OR CIRCLE #152 New AC Units Include Super High Efficiency, Unique Designs and Wi-Fi Connectivity The new Midea Premier Quattro lineup of mini-splits and light commercial air-conditioning units brings comfort to a new level with an advanced inverter system, using technology, as well as Wi-Fi connec- tivity with the MideaAir app. A Genetic Algorithm Stepless Inverter enables the system to shift frequencies seamlessly and adjust to outdoor and indoor temperatures in real time to enhance comfort and efficiency in partial loads. The system also uses Midea's Hyper inverter technol- ogy to provide heating at extreme low temperatures and cooling at very high outdoor temperatures, while the ECONight mode gives users control over the power consump- tion overnight, saving up to 60 percent on energy consumption during sleep hours. FlashCooling guarantees cold or hot air in less than 30 seconds. CHECK OR CIRCLE #147 Haier Ductless Air Launches New Lines Fit for Light Commercial Uses Haier Ductless Air recently introduced a new easy installation USB Wi-Fi mod- ule as an option for the existing Arctic and FlexFit Series and the new FlexFit Pro high-wall models. Perfect for light com- mercial uses, the FlexFit Pro series offers a numbers of options to make installation and inventory easy. Systems are powered by a single outdoor unit, yet able to set different temperatures in different spaces via separate indoor units. The series is available from 24,000 Btu to 48,000 Btu. The 24 K unit is interchangeable with single- or multi-zone units. CHECK OR CIRCLE #148 SLIM-DUCTED HEAT PUMP BOASTS EFFICIENCY, LOW PROFILE Panasonic's Slim-Ducted Heat Pump is a versatile new system that can provide heating and cooling solutions for the entire home, rather than just one or two rooms at a time using traditional single- zone systems. It assumes a low profile, as they can be hidden in floors or ceilings without disrupting the look and feel of a room. This all-in-one heater and air conditioner is highly efficient in both the winter and summer, regard- less of the function being performed. This commitment to energy efficiency is reflected in the inverter-driven compressor and the DC fan motor, both which allow for high efficiency and consistent performance. This system is available in 5,000- 7,000 Btu for a multi zone and 9,000-12,000 Btu for single- and multi-zone HVAC solutions. Additionally, airflow can be increased to suit the customer's needs with the simple flick of the dip switch on the interior circuit board. CHECK OR CIRCLE #149 LG Unveils Next-Generation VRF System Representing the next generation in the LG Multi V VRF family, Multi V 5 is available from 6 to 42 tons, with a choice of three-phase 208V-230V or 460V electrical power as heat recovery/heat pump outdoor units. New to the Multi V lineup are the single-frame 16, 18 and 20 ton units. The 20 ton unit represents the largest ton- nage single frame on the market. As a smaller and lighter solution, the Multi V 5 20 ton not only reduces footprint requirements, but also helps to reduce installation costs. The unit features Advanced Smart Load Control, which proactively addresses the impact of pending weather changes ensuring optimal comfort for building occupants. In addition, a new biomimetic fan design enables the unit to operate more efficiently and increase airflow while reducing the perceived noise level by ap- proximately 20 percent. CHECK OR CIRCLE #150 TWO-STAGE COMPRESSOR ADDRESSES NEEDS FOR AFFORDABLE COMFORT Emerson's Copeland Scroll two-stage compressor includes an expansion in the capacity range up to 10 horsepower and offers comfort and efficiency at an affordable price. The compressor has been redesigned for improved performance and reliability in residential and commercial air-conditioning systems with an offering to support from 1.5 to 10 ton systems. The latest generation of this technology deliv- ers efficiency gains in full-load of up to 5 percent and up to 5 percent more efficiency in part-load. These improvements are enabling affordable solutions for OEMs in 15/16 SEER applications, allowing OEMs to more easily meet CEE tiers, while also providing additional comfort benefits such as better humidity and tempera- ture control.
